Is Travel the Only Thing We Buy That Makes Us Richer?

Travel is good for lots of things – from flourishing self-awareness and mental well-being to making new experiences and memories. Whether you’re travelling for business, on a family holiday, or have decided to pursue a life on the road, travelling gives you some ‘You’ time. It gives us breathing space that is often lost in our daily lives.

For me, travelling is like meditation and on my travels, I have had the opportunity to not only explore new places but I have also had the chance to enjoy vibrant cultures through the language, history, traditions, food, and art. It gave me the all the favourable circumstances to interact with people from a divergent background who have different outlooks on life.

When we travel, we’re exposed to a new environment, a different language, and a different culture. Also, sometimes our own ideas and opinions might be challenged due to other people’s perspectives and this is how we learn to be in another person’s shoes and enrich our experiences.

Based on my experience with new places and adventures, travel makes us a happier and richer in ways like:

  • We earn our self-confidence by dealing with eye-opening situations.
  • Being away from our homes and comfort makes us appreciate everything we have. We no more take things granted!
  • We make new friends and it becomes like a home away from home.
  • It’s like detoxification from social media as we’re no more glued to our phones. it’s liberating!
  • We’re presented with ways in which we can intensify our knowledge and education.
  • It’s about the new experiences and gives us moments to remember. Recalling memories is like endless happiness.
  • We become more interesting as we don’t have the stuff to show, but the stories to tell.
Travel makes us a happier person and for me, being happy is like being the richest person on this earth.
